Message From The Chair

 

 

I am very proud to Chair the Strathcona Community Hospital Foundation Board of Directors. The new hospital opened its doors May 2014, making this an exciting time in the Foundation’s development. We are pleased to work with an exceptional staff team at the hospital along with our Board to strategically meet the community’s needs.

 

Our Board is made up of a dedicated group of volunteers who offer their time and expertise and represent a wide range of expertise including legal, finance, bequeathment, investment, senior management, marketing, technology and fundraising.

 

The Foundation’s mission is to encourage giving to enhance care offered by the Strathcona Community Hospital through:

Paula Schoepp (Vice Chair)

Ms. Paula Schoepp has over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.  Paula currently holds the position of Area Business Manager in Western Canada for the Women’s Health unit of Bayer.  During her successful career at Bayer, Paula has received numerous awards of recognition for production and leadership. Paula’s passion for empowering youth has also been supported with volunteer work with interVivos Mentorship Program and informally as a mentor to many at Bayer.

Keith has been with ATB Financial for the past 15 years, and served in the financial services industry over 29 years. He's lived in Sherwood Park since 2002, married 27 years with wife Connie and two young adults Delaney and Mitchell. Life to me means family, friends and getting involved in the community.

Renee Giroux-Wyton

Retired President and CEO of St. Michael's Health Group, Stan is a Sherwood Park resident of over 40 years and is married to Gail and has two children, Stanley Jr and Susan.  Stan has worked in the not-for-profit sector, municipal and provincial levels of government and was University of Regina Associate Professor and Cougars Men's Basketball Coach.  Stan has served on many Boards including Alberta Continuing Care Association, Continuing Care Safely Association, International Association for Volunteer Effort, Lakeland College Board of Govenors, Alberta Seniors Community Housing Association, Christian Health Association of Alberta, and  Winnifred Stewart Association. Stan believes our Community Hospital is a vital part of Health Services in the region.

Trina Hodges

Loyalty, passion, and unwavering commitment to achieving the best for her clients, family and friends are the cornerstones to what has made Trina one of the most well respected REALTORS® in the community.  Having grown up and lived in Sherwood Park for over 35 years, Trina intimately knows and loves the community.  Together with her 2 children, and her husband who holds down the fort, Trina loudly and passionately calls Sherwood Park home.   Fun Fact… Trina played Rugby for 15 years and has a potbelly pig, chickens and ducks.

Clair Platt

Clair Platt is a Professional Member from the Distribution and
Manufacturing of Medical Supplies and Equipment within Canada. She has
enjoyed over 35 years in the Healthcare Industry beginning as a Customer
Service Agent and finishing her career as a Director of Business
Development.
Clair’s career has provided her with the opportunity to work with virtually all
Health Care Institutions across Canada.
Clair recently retired and now reports directly to her two teenage
Grandchildren, a team that proves to be just slightly more demanding than
CEO’s in the Health Care Industry.

Gene is a retired senior business executive, with significant experience in leadership, manufacturing, distribution, and consumer products.  A doctoral candidate at the University of Phoenix, Gene lives in Sherwood Park with his wife Natalie, they have 4 children and several pets.

Derek works at ScotiaMcLeod, providing clients with investment advice and financial services. Derek and his family are heavily involved in soccer, running, golf, and charitable causes.
