Our Hospital
Foundation
The Strathcona Community Hospital Foundation was formed in 2008 to complement the Strathcona Community Hospital (opened 2014). By keeping its finger on the pulse of the community, the Foundation keeps up to date with community trends and concerns, and works to support overall health and wellbeing through its relationships with community members and groups. You’ll find the Foundation working with other social profits in the community, sitting at the Social Framework Leadership Table, and planning and community events. We want the community to have more than access to the best healthcare possible, we want them to feel connected to the Hospital and community.
As part of our mandate to support the Strathcona Community Hospital, the Foundation connects with corporate partners and community members to raise funds for the improvement of hospital services. A dedicated board of directors and small administrative team facilitate this process and work with Alberta Health Services to ensure donor funds make the biggest possible impact.

We'll be making an announcement SOON of an upcoming project to honor an incredibly generous donation from Mary and Alfred Kublik, 'The Kublik Gardens' project will also look for community support for volunteers and donations. Watch for updates here!
And we'll be launching a community donation drive for monthly donors to join our 'Friends of the Foundation' with some exclusive invitations and sneak peeks planned in the next 12 months. More details coming soon!

Donate Today
Support healthcare right here in our community with a direct donation to the Strathcona Community Hospital Foundation. This year we have focused our attention or raising $75,000 for TWO new GLIDESCOPES.
These are high-tech “video periscopes’ used when a patient can’t breathe on their own… sometimes Doctors have only seconds to place a life-saving breathing tube. When every second counts, the Glidescope can reduce intubation time by HALF! Traditional tools require a ‘straight-line’ view of the throat, the GlideScope changes the game by using a tiny, integrated camera and digital monitor to ‘see around the corner’… giving Doctors a clear HD view of the airway. This ensures life-saving tubes are placed perfectly, which is even more critical when the patient is just a child.
